Philip Chu

Philip Chu was born in Hong Kong and completed his Master of Music degree in conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Imre Pallo. He has performed with The Metropolitan Opera, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Opera Australia, Macao Orchestra, Cantillation, Pinchgut Opera and the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, among others. As chorusmaster he has prepared choirs for conductors including Lorin Maazel, Jaap van Zweden, Charles Dutoit and Gianluigi Gelmetti. In addition to recording collaborations with ABC Classics, Philip is also active in recording music for video games and anime. Recent recordings have included Echoes of War with Eminence Symphony Orchestra in association with Blizzard Entertainment for international release, the soundtracks of Final Fantasy Type-0, Diablo III, Soulcalibur IV & V and the Japanese anime The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Philip Chu returned to Hong Kong in 2010 and in 2016 he founded the vocal group Cantabile where he serves as both the ensemble’s Artistic Director and Music Director.

朱俊熹生於香港,於悉尼音樂學院完成指揮碩士課程,師承帕羅。他曾與多個音樂團體合作,包括大都會歌劇院、東京愛樂樂團、悉尼交響樂團、墨爾本交響樂團、昆士蘭交響樂團、港樂、澳洲布蘭登堡樂團、澳洲歌劇團、澳門樂團、Cantillation、皮奇古特歌劇院及悉尼愛樂合唱團等。作為合唱團團長,他曾為馬捷爾、梵志登、杜托華、謝敏替等指揮大師的演出擔任合唱指導。除了為澳洲廣播公司錄製古典音樂,朱俊熹亦積極參與電玩遊戲與動漫的音樂錄製。近年作品包括與澳洲 Eminence 交響樂團及 Blizzard Entertainment 聯合製作,並於全球發行的《Echoes of War》;《FINAL FANTASY》系列 Type-0、Diablo III、Soulcalibur IV 及V的原聲大碟,以及日本動漫《涼宮春日的消失》的原聲大碟。於2010年回港後,朱俊熹於2016年成立無伴奏合唱團Cantabile,他是該團的藝術總監及音樂總監。
