Evan Robinson grew up in the USA where he received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Master of Music from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. His mentors in viola performance and chamber music include Stephen Wyrczynski, André Roy and members of the Alban Berg, Ebène and Escher string quartets. Evan Robinson has participated in the New York String Orchestra seminar at Carnegie Hall and as principal viola of the McGill Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed at the Tokyo City Opera Concert Hall as assistant principal viola of the orchestra of Music Masters Course Japan. For several years Evan Robinson performed as a member of the Milton String Quartet. The quartet has won the Senior String Division Gold Medal and the Grand Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Competition in 2017, one of North America’s most prestigious chamber music awards. He also toured with the Milton String Quartet in the USA and Canada and completed an exchange programme with the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria. Having served previously as a Graduate Instructor of McGill University as well as a Teaching Artist for the Noel Pointer Foundation in Brooklyn, New York, Evan Robinson is currently pursuing an active teaching career in Hong Kong. He became a member of City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2021.
