Rebecca Jessica Merritt is an American actress who has been based in Hong Kong since 2012. She studied acting in the USA and has worked professionally on stage, print, film and TV for 37 years. She currently works as a teacher at Socratic Education Group, as a voice over actor, and runs social media for TBC. Previously she performed with Dove Tales Theatre Company, Rooftop Improv and taught drama and LAMDA public speaking across Hong Kong for Faust International Youth Theatre and at Harrow International School Hong Kong for Studio Starlit. During the covid lockdown she co-created Hong Kong Live Play Readings with Davina Cooke, producing free plays with actors on a global basis. Her credits in acting include Titania in Midsummer Night’s Dream for the Hong Kong Shakespeare Performance Association’s Shakespeare in the Park (2018), Fiona Volpe in The Bonded City for Secret Theatre (2023), Bethany in Lulu Wang’s EXPATS for Amazon (2024) and a British officer for a major motion picture to be released globally in 2025. Her greatest joy is her son Aaron.
