Winner of the ‘révélation’ category of the prestigious 2016 Victoires de la Musique Classique, Lucienne Renaudin Vary is the new voice of the trumpet and one of the youngest musical sensations to emerge from France. For her Hong Kong debut she performs Hummel’s classic showpiece for trumpet and teams up with piano virtuoso Vahan Mardirossian in Shostakovich’s concerto for trumpet, piano and strings, a show-stopping work bristling with gorgeous melodies and brilliant jeu d’esprit.  CCOHK completes the French connection with burlesque moods in Strauss’ Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, an orchestral suite based on Moliere’s remorseless satire of the same name.
