Chan Wai-bun
Principal Viola
Chan Wai-bun was born in Hong Kong and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong where he studied with Ricardo Zwietisch. He received a scholarship from Chung Chi College to study with Dan Reinker at the Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina. In 2014 he received the Guildhall Trust Scholarship to study with Matthew Jones at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where he graduated with a Master of Music degree in viola performance. In London Chan Wai-bun performed with the London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. He has performed in masterclasses by Robert Vernon, Paul Coletti and Paul Silverthorne and has received coaching from the Chilingirian Quartet, Endellion Quartet and the Shanghai Quartet. On return to Hong Kong Chan Wai-bun entered The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts to study with Professor Ivan Chan as a visiting student. He joined City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2018 and was appointed Principal Viola in 2021.
陳煒彬
首席中提琴
陳煒彬生於香港，畢業於香港中文大學音樂系，師隨史嘉圖，並獲崇基學院獎學金赴美國北卡羅納州東方國際音樂節深造，師隨丹•賴因卡。他於2014年獲英國倫敦市政廳音樂及戲劇學院獎學金，前往該校深造，師從馬修•鍾斯並以中提琴音樂演奏碩士畢業。在倫敦求學期間，他曾在歷圖指揮棒下的倫敦交響樂團在演出。陳氏亦曾參加羅拔•弗農、保羅•科萊蒂和保羅•施維索恩的大師班，又曾接受切靈格利安四重奏、安德里昂四重奏、上海四重奏的指導。回港後，以特別生的身分於香港演藝學院跟隨陳浩堂教授深造。2018年加入香港城市室樂團，並於2021年起擔任首席中提琴。
