Ma Sai
Double Bass
Ma Sai was born in Tianjin in China. He began to play the double bass from the age of ten and studied at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. He graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore where he studied with Xu Li (former Associate Principal Double Bass of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra) and the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno where he studied with Czech virtuoso Miloslav Jelínek. During his studies he received awards from the 4th International František Simandl double bass competition in Blatná. He has performed with the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, the Macao Orchestra and on tour to Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, Tallin and Helsinki as a member of the Asia-Pacific United Orchestra. Ma Sai currrently plays on a German String Meister Björn Stoll Model Havana Double Bass. He became a member of City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2015.
馬賽
低音大提琴
馬賽生於中國，十歲開始習低音大提琴，其後考進天津音樂學院習藝。他畢業於新加坡的南洋藝術學院，是新加坡交響樂團前低音大提琴副首席徐理的門生，後又到捷克的布爾勞，在楊納傑克演藝學院隨捷克著名的音樂家米洛斯拉夫‧耶里內克教授進修。在學期間，他到布拉特納參加第四屆「國際史曼杜低音大提琴比賽」並獲獎。馬賽曾參與不同樂團的演出，包括貴陽交響樂團及澳門樂團。他曾是亞太聯合樂團的成員，隨團到過歐洲的維也納、布拉迪斯拉發、布拉格、塔林、赫爾辛基等城市獻藝。他現時用以演奏的樂器，是德國製琴大師比央‧施圖爾的哈瓦那款低音大提琴。馬賽於2015年加入香港城市室樂團。
