Nigel Sandall was born in England and graduated from the Royal Schools College of Music in London. Upon graduation he was invited to join the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and performed there for four years. In 1987 he moved to Hong Kong and has pursued a dual career as both a bassoonist and a piano teacher ever since. He joined City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong as the Principal Bassoon in 2000.
