Sophie Dervaux is the principal bassoonist of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. She enjoys a flourishing international career as a bassoon soloist and recording artist. She studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and won the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2013. She teaches bassoon at The Music and Arts University of The City of Vienna.
